Who’s on your project team?

We listed six essential roles for your Citrix cloud deployment below. The people you choose to fill them may come from within your business, from Citrix, or from a Citrix partner.

Your task is simple – review the roles and build your project team.

Internal sponsor
Your internal sponsor will oversee your organization’s deployment of Citrix cloud services, with overall responsibility for its success – though they’ll rarely be directly involved in implementation.

They’ll often be the person who signed the purchase order for your Citrix cloud services, as well as the person who’ll sign off on each element of your project, including this plan.

Your internal sponsor should be kept in the loop as the project progresses from milestone to milestone.

Implementation specialist
As the name suggests, your implementation specialist – or specialists – will actually perform the implementation.

If you have more than one person in this role, make sure everyone is clear about the division of tasks.

Citrix specialist
This person will almost certainly already have experience with Citrix – either on- premises or in the cloud.

They’ll be responsible for owning and developing knowledge about Citrix Cloud environments and will be heavily involved in your specific configuration.

Communications manager
It’s important to educate end users about why you’re deploying Citrix cloud services, what’s changing, and what the benefits are. That means you need a structured program of communications, beginning before deployment and extending after it to actively drive early adoption.

Your communications manager – ideally based in your Marketing or HR department – will oversee the creation and delivery of this program.

If you find you have to take on this role yourself, don’t worry – we will provide you with resources to help minimize the additional work in Step 4 of the Citrix Cloud Success Center.

Training manager
Your training manager will be responsible for preparing your end users to get full value from Citrix cloud services.

The training program they create and oversee could involve face-to-face sessions or simply the sharing of self- serve resources by email. Whatever your program looks like, it should run before and after deployment.

Support manager
Your designated support manager will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining any aspects of infrastructure you’re hosting
  • Performing routine maintenance and monitoring
  • Supporting end users, when necessary, post-deployment
  • Troubleshooting any issues post-deployment
